We all know that the coupling on the vibrating roller is used to connect the diesel engine to the transmission. In the early days, vibrating rollers used flexible couplings, which required that the half coupling be drilled and tapped at the position where it was connected to the rubber block. It was necessary to have a keyway hole on each half coupling that protruded from the diesel engine main clutch output shaft and meshed with the input shaft of the gearbox. Furthermore, the rubber block on the coupling was subjected to different forces from the moment it was installed (before it started working) - the sides were subjected to tensile forces, and the inner side was subjected to compressive forces. Over time, the rubber block would become fatigued and lose its elasticity, and it would be more prone to fatigue and cracking during operation. Therefore, we adopted the current more advanced tire coupling in China. This tire coupling has many advantages:
1. Stronger connection and greater transmission torque. When the vibrating roller uses the 413 superior K-3 type diesel engine, its maximum transmission torque is 4787 N·m. The rated torque of the tire coupling is 6300 N·m, greatly improving the connection characteristics of the 3Y12/15 type vibrating roller at this position.
2. Reduced requirements for installation precision. The original universal joint or vulcanized rubber coupling had a parallelism requirement of 1.0mm, but when using a pneumatic coupling, it can be reduced to 2.5mm.
3. The pneumatic coupling also belongs to a flexible connection, which has significant protective effects on the diesel engine and transmission during equipment startup and load.
4. The original vulcanized rubber block connection required a hole and thread on the half coupling; when using a pneumatic coupling, only a hole is required on the half coupling, without threading. Because the rubber ring in the pneumatic tire contains a metal screw cap for connection, and the flange size of the half coupling can also be reduced, the connection hole is reduced from the original 8 screw holes to 6 light holes; not only saving materials, but also saving processing integration time.
Above is the introduction of the coupling selection for vibrating roller, hope it helps!
